Kitchen remodeling in Manhattan Beach.
Master Kitchen serves Manhattan Beach, where homes are tall, lots are narrow and the kitchen is often on the top floor. A full kitchen remodel typically costs $35,000 to $75,000 and averages 2–3 weeks of work in the home, with the route for cabinets and stone worked out during design.

Kitchens in Manhattan Beach.
Manhattan Beach is known by its sections. In the Sand Section, closest to the water, lots are narrow and deep and the houses are built upward to catch light and views. Many put the living room and the kitchen on the top floor. Some front on walk streets, which are closed to cars.
The Tree Section has wider lots, with a mix of older mid-century homes and newer rebuilds. The Hill Section has some of the largest lots in the city and views of the ocean. Kitchens in the newer houses are large and open, and the older ones are still waiting their turn.
What a remodel in Manhattan Beach has to allow for.
- Getting materials upstairs
- Cabinets, appliances and stone go up two flights or over a balcony. Slab sizes and seams are planned around the route in.
- Walk streets and alleys
- Where the front of the house has no car access, deliveries, parking and debris removal are arranged from the alley.
- Salt air
- Hardware, hinges and fixtures are chosen for a coastal house.
- Windows over wall space
- A kitchen built for the view gives up upper cabinets, so storage moves into the island and tall pantry cabinetry.
Permits in Manhattan Beach.
Manhattan Beach issues its own permits through the Building and Safety Division of the Community Development Department at City Hall, 1400 Highland Avenue. Applications are filed online through the city's Citizen Self Service portal, and the division publishes a handout for kitchen remodels. Construction is allowed from 7:30am to 6pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays, and not on Sundays or city holidays. If a delivery or a dumpster needs the street, the sidewalk or the alley, the city may also require a permit from Public Works or Traffic Engineering.

The scope that usually fits.
On a narrow lot the kitchen's footprint is what it is, so the usual project is a full kitchen remodel at $35,000 to $75,000 that makes the most of it. Larger homes in the Tree and Hill sections, with full-custom cabinetry and premium stone, run $75,000 to $100,000 or more. A newer kitchen that only needs new cabinets and countertops costs $20,000 to $35,000.
